The Decade of UNORIGINALITY.

I am a huge movie buff, my entire family… all sides, are all movie buffs. And lately, it seems like most of the movies being made are remakes (or “sequals”) of 80′s movies! And even some from the 70′s!

It started with Lost Boys: The Tribe… I rolled with it, but I don’t think it did justice to the original movie… not even slightly.

Now there’s Transformers, GI Joe, The Karate Kid & The A-Team. And on the horizon… (brace yourself)…

The only thing that gives me hope is that I did NOT see The Goonies, The Labyrinth or The Breakfast Club on any of the lists I found.

When it’s a sequel, it’s a little easier to stomach, but for the love of gawd… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Less than one month after paying for another full year of hosting, all my blogs & the blogs I host were “disabled”. When I contacted customer support, this was the reason they gave:

Your account has been disabled, because your scripts are using overloading the server CPU and Memory. Your site is going over our allowed CPU usage. We only allow 10%.

Their “remedy” for this was to upgrade my plan to one that cost $50 a month. There was no way I could afford that, so I decided to move to a new host company. (Keep in mind… as I was dealing with all this, my cell phone was shot. The battery lasted maybe 5 minutes & the plug was messed up. I could not have it plugged in & dial out, so I had to deal with this via “tickets” & email.)

I asked for permission to have temporary access to my folders & MySQL so I could get the files & databases I needed to move the blogs. They said they would get the databases for me. I was fine with that as long as they structured the export in the way that was needed for WordPress blogs. A week later, I finally got my stuff… NO files (IE plug-ins, uploads, etc) and the databases were NOT configured for WordPress. This went back & forth for another couple weeks.

Finally, I asked if, instead of refund on the full year’s worth of hosting that I just paid for, could that money be put toward the upgraded plan for one month so I could get everything myself. This was ignored for another couple weeks. Finally, when I got a response, it was “Your sites have been removed”. I was dumbfounded. I paid for a full effing year! They weren’t running so there was no longer a CPU memory issue!

All in all, I lost almost a year & a half worth of posts. I was doing back ups, but guess what… they were held in a folder online. The entire ordeal has left me bitter, disillusioned & hella pissed off. At this point, I will finish up a few clients blogs & then I’m done with custom blog templates for awhile. I will continue to make & sell pre-made templates & Twitter skins… but dealing with multiple clients is more than I handle right now.

BUT, that’s not the big news… the big news is that, after 15 years with a pony tail, T got his hair chopped off!!! Yep… he now sports a sexy new do. I personally love it!!!

AND… the next cool thing… he has to keep going back to get it trimmed…it’s also a tattoo shop, remember….

*rubs hands gleefully in expectation of my next tat*

Avenged Sevenfold

If you’re wondering where the Saving Able photo is, there isn’t one. Their light was horrible! They were back lit the whole time with no spot lights. I didn’t see any of their faces once. But that’s ok, I only know like 2 of their songs and we weren’t there for them.

As with CrueFest, Papa Roach and Buckcherry kicked ass. Jacoby went out into the audience again. I love that he does that for his fans. Buckcherry was awesome! LOL and Josh can still move!

As for Avenged, I have to admit, when I first heard about the concert, I only knew 3 of their songs… Bat Country, A Little Piece of Heaven & Scream. But Devan made me a CD with all their best songs & I listened to it every time I was in the car & I manged to learn them all. They were amazing. Probably the loudest of any I’ve seen. There were times when they’d hit a base note & you could literally feel the shock wave of sound. They kicked ass, but I was SUPER dissapointed… they didn’t play Little Piece of Heaven… my favorite song by them… But I can live with it LOL

He was introduced to our other ferrets and so far so good. LOL… they all did the circling butt sniffing and immediatly went into play-play mode. He took to T right away and started playing with him within minutes… a very good thing LOL

The only thing we need to worry about is clearing his system of the “not exactly ferret” food that he was indulged with… tsk tsk… LOL

The past two weeks have sucked major ass. What a great start to the new year… my PayPal card number gets stolen & I’m having a lot of trouble recovering my money… of course it overflowed into my personal bank account… Major NSF fees there. As a result, I’m running a super sale on my blog templates… *hinthintwinkwink*  Then this weekend my ‘puter went haywire & it took all weekend to get it working properly… Apparently my McAfee went corrupt & I got hit with different rojans & viruses…

God, I can’t wait till the 30th when I get to go see Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Papa Roach & Saving Able…

When we got Direct TV a couple weeks ago, we also got 3 free months of the movie channels. So, I was scrolling through the movies and I saw the title True Blood, and thought “Hey! That’s about vampires!” and decided to DVR an episode to see if it was any good.

OK, so I’m thinking Anna Paquin, she’s such a sweetheart, loved her as Rogue… It must be like a cross between The Lost Boys and Interview with a Vampire… only with more cussing and probably gore… it is HBO after all.

So… I tell Nikki (my 11 y/o in case you didn’t know), who also loves vampires, that I recorded a show and did she want to watch it with me. Of course she says “Yes!”. So, we hunker down all cozy in my bed and I fire it up.

Wellllll….. apparently I choose poorly as the opening sceen was of a homemade sex tape!!! And let me tell you, it was just this side of being a full blown porno! Holy Crap!!! I couldn’t hit the “OMFG STOP STOP STOP” button fast enough!

LMAO… so, there’s my kid with her hands over her eyes going “MOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!! EWWWWWW” and I’m smacking all sorts of buttons on the damn control. Yeah… it was a spectacular mother-daughter moment. Sheesh.

It started on the 18th with us having to put one of our ferrets, Baby Dahl, to sleep.

She had been doing poorly for a few weeks and then she just plummeted. She was going into horrible convulsions where she was completely contorting her little body & actually screaming all night long.

It was horrible and even though the screams were not of pain, but involuntary results of the seizures, it was devastating.

We’ll miss our little girl. She was such a sweetheart.

Then this past weekend was Christmas with my side of the family. This year we focused on the kids. They got a ton of crap. Too much went on over the 4 days for me to even begin to try & type about it. LOL… but here are a couple photos…

Then yesterday, Christmas day, Tony’s brother and his family came over. It was nice to have them here for a change! LOL We had a delicious steak dinner and had fun with the kids. Charlotte was crazy about Dude (our bearded dragon), who she called a “Wizard” and our ferret, Moose, who she called “Mouse”! LMAO it was a total hoot! And… to top it all off, we got a photo with all for of the kids together… all looking in the general direction of the camera… at the same time! It only took 5 or 6 tries… LMAO

All in all… I’m kinda sad to see Christmas go & I’m not looking forward to taking all the decorations down, but maybe next year, I’ll actually manage to get ALL the decorations up! and even manage to take some photos… LMAO
